Residential Care

Quayside

Aims & Objectives

Our intention is to provide a service that empowers individuals to live lives filled with hope, purpose, and opportunity, where they are not defined by their mental health challenges but supported and celebrated through their recovery journey. We believe that recovery is possible for everyone and that each individual has the potential to build a meaningful and fulfilling life, regardless of the difficulties they may have experienced.

We adopt a holistic and person-centred approach to mental health support, recognising that recovery involves much more than managing symptoms. We focus on the whole person, considering their strengths, aspirations, relationships, physical health, emotional wellbeing, and personal goals. By understanding each individual's unique experiences and circumstances, we can provide tailored support that promotes resilience, independence, confidence, and self-determination.

We recognise that recovery is not always a straightforward path and that progress looks different for everyone. Rather than focusing solely on outcomes, we value the journey itself, supporting individuals to overcome barriers, develop coping strategies, build life skills, and achieve goals that are meaningful to them. Through compassionate support, encouragement, and positive risk-taking, we aim to empower people to regain control of their lives, strengthen their sense of identity, and realise their full potential within their communities.

Our commitment is to create an environment where individuals feel respected, valued, and supported to move forward with confidence, embracing a future defined not by their diagnosis, but by their strengths, ambitions, and achievements.

Principles

At Quayside, we focus on the people we support and respect their rights and dignity. We believe in what we do and will always find new ways to improve how we do it.

Everything we do is centred around the people we support. We are committed to respecting each individual's rights, dignity, choices, and independence, ensuring that they are always treated with compassion, respect, and understanding.

We are passionate about the quality of the services we provide and continually strive to improve. We embrace innovation, reflection, and learning, seeking new and effective ways to enhance the support we deliver and achieve the best possible outcomes for those in our care.

Our focus is on enabling positive outcomes that enhance an individual's quality of life, wellbeing, and independence. We recognise that every person is unique, which is why we provide personalised, person-centred support that reflects each individual's needs, preferences, aspirations, and goals. We work alongside the people we support to empower them to make choices, develop skills, and achieve their full potential.

To ensure we consistently deliver high-quality services, we regularly review and evaluate our practices through robust self-auditing, monitoring, and quality assurance processes. This enables us to identify areas for improvement, maintain high standards, and ensure we continue to meet our aims, objectives, and regulatory requirements.

We believe that effective support is achieved through strong partnerships. We work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, local authorities, Integrated Care Boards, advocates, families, and other key stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach that promotes the best interests and wellbeing of the individuals we support.

We actively encourage and value feedback from the people we support, their families, carers, and professionals. By listening to their experiences, views, and suggestions, we can continuously develop our services and ensure that the voices of those we support remain at the heart of everything we do.

Accommodation

Quayside is an eight-bedroom residential service regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), providing a safe, supportive, and recovery-focused environment for individuals living with mental health needs. The service is commissioned through local authorities and healthcare partners and is regulated by the CQC to ensure that high standards of care, safety, and quality are consistently maintained.

Each resident is provided with their own private bedroom, complete with an en-suite bathroom, promoting privacy, dignity, and personal independence. Rooms are furnished with a bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, and additional furnishings where required, allowing residents to personalise their living space and create an environment that feels comfortable and welcoming.

Residents have access to a fully fitted communal kitchen, encouraging the development of independent living skills such as meal planning, food preparation, and household management. The service also benefits from a secure, private garden, providing a relaxing outdoor space for residents to enjoy, socialise, and engage in recreational activities. In addition, Quayside offers a dedicated recreation room where residents can participate in a variety of structured and informal activities designed to promote wellbeing, social inclusion, confidence, and personal development.

At Quayside, we take a person-centred and recovery-focused approach to support. Our aim is to empower individuals to understand and manage their mental health positively while developing the skills, resilience, and confidence needed to live fulfilling and independent lives. We work alongside residents to help them identify their strengths, build effective coping strategies, improve emotional wellbeing, and achieve goals that are meaningful to them.

Through personalised support, encouragement, and opportunities for growth, we help individuals develop essential life skills, strengthen their independence, and increase their participation within the wider community.
